Why was Kevin Garnett allowed, during the heat of an on-court altercation, to push a referee without being ejected from the game? There are a few things that I thought were supposed to be cut-and-dried, and that is one. I remember a few seasons ago, Tim Duncan moved an official out of the way because he had positioned himself in the middle of a play. There was no malice that I could see from the replay, and yet he was suspended for a game. The explanation at the time was that no contact with officials is tolerated.

I simply cannot find a way to explain the lack of action taken by the referees on the floor, or by the league office, given the stated policy. There is always talk that certain superstar players are afforded extra consideration when it comes to fouls. But most situations are so subjective that it is always debatable. This, however does not look subjective.
